Effective August 28, 2026 · Last updated October 2, 2026

DogRadar ("the app", "we", "us") helps you find dog-friendly places, keep your dog's health records, chat with other owners, and get AI-powered advice. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and what choices you have.

1.Who we are

DogRadar is developed and operated by an independent developer (contact below). We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.

2.Information we collect

CategoryExamples
AccountEmail address, hashed password (via our authentication provider), username
ProfileProfile photo, display name
LocationPrecise device location, used to show nearby places and set a pin when you add a new place
Dog profilesName, breed, sex, weight history, vaccination and medical records you choose to log, related photos
Content you createPlaces you submit, reviews and ratings, favorites, reports you file, messages you send to other users
AI assistantQuestions you ask the assistant and its responses, so you can see your conversation history
SubscriptionWhether you hold a Gold subscription and its status (active/expired) — billing itself is handled by Apple/Google, see §4
Device & pushA push-notification token so we can send you reminders (e.g. an upcoming vaccination)

We do not collect payment card numbers — purchases are processed entirely by Apple or Google.

3.How we use it

  • Operate core features: showing nearby places, your dog's records, reviews, favorites, and chat.
  • Personalize recommendations and answer questions through the AI assistant.
  • Send transactional and reminder notifications (e.g. a vaccination is due).
  • Detect and act on reports of abuse, spam, or policy violations.
  • Provide and manage your Gold subscription.
  • Maintain the security and reliability of the service.

We do not use your data for third-party advertising, and we do not sell personal information.

4.Third-party services we rely on

DogRadar is built on top of a small number of specialized providers, each acting as a processor on our behalf:

ProviderPurpose
SupabaseDatabase, authentication, file storage, and the backend functions the app talks to
Google Firebase (Cloud Messaging)Delivering push notifications to your device
RevenueCatManaging and validating Gold subscription purchases
Apple App Store / Google Play BillingProcessing subscription payments — we never see your card details
OpenAIGenerating responses in the AI assistant; your question and relevant dog context (breed, age) are sent to OpenAI to produce a reply
OpenStreetMap (map tiles) and Nominatim (address lookup)Showing the map, and suggesting an address when you place a pin while adding a place. These servers receive your IP address and the map area or pin coordinates, and no account information. Part of the starter catalog (place names, addresses and coordinates) was seeded from OpenStreetMap data, © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the ODbL

5.Sharing & sale of data

We share information only with the processors above, to the extent needed to run the app, and when required by law. Other app users can see what you choose to make visible: your review author name, place submissions, and messages you send them directly. We never sell your personal information.

6.Retention & deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete individual items (a review, a favorite, a dog profile) directly in the app.

Delete your DogRadar account

In the app: open Profile → Delete account and confirm. Your account is deleted right away.

Can't open the app? For example, if you uninstalled it: email dsappdevelop@gmail.com from the address you registered with, with the subject "Delete my DogRadar account". We'll confirm once it's done, typically within 30 days.

What is deleted: your profile, your dogs and their medical records, your reviews, favorites, messages and posts, the photos you uploaded, and your push-notification tokens. This cannot be undone.

What is kept:

  • Places you submitted that were approved stay in the catalog indefinitely as community content, with no link to your account. Places that were never approved are deleted.
  • A Gold subscription is managed by Apple or Google and is not cancelled by deleting your account. Cancel it in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings first, or you may keep being charged.
  • Copies held in our providers' routine backups are overwritten on their normal schedule.

7.Your rights

If you're in the European Economic Area, the UK, or another jurisdiction with similar protections, you have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us below — we'll respond within a reasonable time and, where applicable, within the timeframe required by law (e.g. one month under GDPR).

8.International transfers

Our service providers may process data outside your country of residence, including in the United States. Where required, we rely on those providers' standard contractual safeguards for such transfers.

9.Children's privacy

DogRadar is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we'll delete it.

10.Security

We use industry-standard measures — encryption in transit, access controls, row-level database security — to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

11.Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
